After reading about "hypermilers" in Reader's Digest, I want to go back to a manual (always liked them anyway). Did you know that the cars that "hypermilers" have gotten the highest gas mileage with were NOT hybrids (it WAS a Toyota - 180 mpg)?!? It is all in how you drive them, which I'm trying to be more conscientious about.

It is BLIZZARDING outside our windows at the moment. A half hour ago, I was shaking rugs over the railing of our deck in the warm sunshine. This weather is CRAZY!Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01550786937196525098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4670702810400732447.post-71460919058526838132008-03-28T12:54:00.000-07:002008-03-28T12:54:00.000-07:00The last car was also a Toyota - a Corolla (manual...The last car was also a Toyota - a Corolla (manual transmission, nothing in the way of bells or whistles). It was a great car! VERY little ever went wrong with it, and it just purred along. The car before that one was not so good - it was a Renault Le Car that conked out after a mere 2 years. Cute car, fun to drive, but highly disposable. No thanks! I'll stick with Toyotas I think, as long as they're gonna last!Woodland Woolworkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18372942108434744180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4670702810400732447.post-37336766233614365092008-03-28T12:26:00.000-07:002008-03-28T12:26:00.000-07:00So what was the last car - the one you put 350K on...So what was the last car - the one you put 350K on?Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01550786937196525098noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4670702810400732447.post-67454824339321724322008-03-27T15:20:00.000-07:002008-03-27T15:20:00.000-07:00Hi Michelle - the car is a Prius - darn good thing...Hi Michelle - the car is a Prius - darn good thing it gets good mileage with all the miles it does! This winter I'm averaging 47 mpg per tank of gas. Summertime I can get 52! It helps.Woodland Woolworkshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18372942108434744180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4670702810400732447.post-38714827780095294732008-03-27T07:16:00.000-07:002008-03-27T07:16:00.000-07:00We buy used and drive at least a decade, but have ...We buy used and drive at least a decade, but have never reached 200K.
